This song from the Armenian entry in this year's ESC is sung by the superband Genealogy... This song resembles the courage to get to the past especially from your great great grand parents before you were born ... or your ancestors .. it's kinda give your throwback thursday to your ancestors from pictures to letters to memorabilias to souvenirs and so on.. This song happens to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.
Lyrically speaking, this song tells about reuniting with your loved ones (your family) and getting to know the beautiful past things that was done in your ancestors and your families as well.. of course the Armenian tradition was shown in the music video too..
Vocally speaking, the combination of different vocal styles done by 6 artists into 1 song became a versatile flash mob... From Opera (done by Mary-Jean O'Doherty Vasmatzian), Japanese pop (done by Stephanie Topalian) - who also displays her high whistle register to C#6 in the end harmonizing with O'Doherty Vazmatzian in A6 and that happened to have a high A major scale, then Folk, Rnb and Pop (done by four remaining Armenian artists Inga Arshakyan, Essaï Altounian, Tamar Kaprelian, Vahe Tilbian).
Overall giving it a 10 for the video content, 9.9 for the musical composition and 9.9 for the vocal arrangement.
